yt-dlp	Current most updated fork of youtube-dl. Extremely powerful commandline video downloader.	Windows/Linux/Mac (Python)
Musicbee	Lightweight, full-featured, and modern music player & library manager. I am not kidding when I say lightweight, this thing is comparable in weight to Foobar2000.	Windows
Hydrus	Comically over-engineered image/video library manager. Works based on tagging and is capable of grabbing images from urls and automatically saving metadata from them. All platforms (Python) You may also want the community-maintained browser extension.	Windows/Linux/Mac (Python)

The most over-complicated note keeping app in existence. I use it though. Stores notes as markdown which makes it easy to migrate to another similar platform. Lots of community plug-ins.

Syncthing

Software for syncing files across devices. No file size limit. Sort of fiddly? Doesn't provide any cloud storage space. Still, it's very reliable and can be set-and-forgotten until you need to add another device or another folder. There is an iOS version, but it's paid and not by the main team.
